Conflicting Essays in scholarship which have been the most engaging research job I have ever done. I have also added, over the years, queries about our "dated" geology with their "computerized" confirmations together with climate changes denied since 1963. The Ten-O'clock News have been telling us to change our clocks for DSL and back again BUT no one as noticed it has been changed, more than a few years ago, from March 31 and October 31, to a week or so earlier or even a week or so later.

Star-Dragons and Maya Calendars

China 1985:
Two Fire Dragons Battle over a Ball of Fire
or Two Comets AND an Exploding Nova
 or Two Sky Ball Players
O
Our Constellations. (Winter/Summer)
Our Spinning Earth as Earth Orbits
Around the Sun.

Why is the math not working for the. Maya Calendar Systems? There is no way for such complex calculus to work, even when it has proven itself to be the most time-saving and efficient way to go backwards in time. the is no modern astronomy record that shows a complete life of any one star or nebula. No astronomer has  lived long enough to study a single sky element. Now stars or star events are discovered daily by one or another person. Since a star event can take hundreds of years to become what it is meant to be; that is hundreds of years of recording the same information year after boring year.

The problem is in ancient times changes that range from 445-days to correct the agricultural year [Caesar's solution]; or the 38-year difference between Spain and Portugal [that allowed Columbus to sail with Vespucci] thus giving Vespucci the privilege of naming our lands and Columbus the privilege of discovering half of it.], a telescope allows no time for dawdling. There must be money made available for upkeep and if nothing is different for such a long time, supporters disappear.

Math to investigate past eras do not keep people interested either. Providing past data has to be accurate also. Dating errors all around the world when explorers tried to prove they had "discovered" the remains of the oldest humanoid in the world; to our computer generated time alteration [a 'nano' second] That will take eons to become viable.

The Julian Calendar that count backward into time may be the best way to create an ancient record, but unless all the date changes over time are accounted for, how can anyone ensure real dates are being generated?

One problem that arises is that One Imix was given to the meso-american people by the Church as their date for the first day of the New Year.  The European calendar day of that glyph was February 8, 1584 but it became the January 1st of that year.

Since no month names had ever been given, the Church decided that such names would assist researchers later to compare the two systems. As it is, The Book of the Years by Edmonson stated:

"Mixtec Month Names remain linguistically' undocumented." (1968, 211)

Zero Pop was given as the name of the first month of the year as July 26. 1583. Yet, it also became the first month (January) of 1584 in Mexico by Church mandate.

H.m.m.m.m Between February 8 and July 26 is almost six months. Six months are 180 days for one-half a year. It appears to me that is where the missing 120 might be hiding in just one more twisted idea of adjusted time.

The TRECENA is a paltry, insignificant error in compiling information about dates. Even so, the gross obvious difference of saying that the number 52 equaled Years; not Weeks, as it should have been is not so insignificant.. By some super calculus figures, 816 is dividable by 13 and it will equal 52, hence the erroneous 52-year count propounded by all.

First: To use the Madrid Codex Serpent pages calendar as a Trecena starting place it only leads to even more improbable errors.

If one would work out the whole thirteen numbers as intended vertically; it becomes obvious that even the 20 day count does not coincide with meso-american date clearly post-1583 AD even though it was when One  IMIX became the first day of the 52-WEEK cycle. The actual first day should have remained IK, not IMIX.

Secondly: If one would do the 4-day weeks, as in the Madrid, using the Trecena as inferred there, its vertical layout gives you [except when one starts with IMIX to the left of IK] three sets of four days down no longer end in Ahaw. It ends, instead, with K'awa'k. This completes 12 lines down vertcally. However, the new IMIX does not complete 52 weeks as it should. because it also has to add in the 5 extra dead days. The 13th line then becomes the first line so it creates a continuous loop [in computer terminology]. It is the beginning of a new twelve-week of "year bearers," for want of a better name.

The IMIX name must then use the 13th row to each set of four to repeat the cycle. . . . and . . . again., just as many three year sets of four days per week you care to compute. The 13th returns to the very first "clearing" of the milpa and burn process.  In Norway, Greenland, Finland and Sweden such agricultural practices are called Swidden farming
.
This automatic repeat function then adds the first row of a year by repeating the Imix row again across the page horizontally which creates a "lateral year" which cannot make even a 360-day year without adding two extra days to each and every vertical week. Those two extra days per week would be similar to our Saturday and Sunday.

However, in Mesoamerica, they do not signify a day of rest. Those are days when one must fill the various duties of managing village affairs; perform their role for the current festival celebrations.
Or both men and women could also aid in building a neighbor's house, or even help to celebrate a quincena of a new adult girl child.

In this instance to use the 13 count against the day names has no value as a counter of days. If the counter was more accurate----with a twelve-count repeated normally----it would not help in the 360-day [as a 6-day week] year or during a 365.25-day year [as a 7-day week] year. The Borgia Codex is the calendar that solved the problem of the 7-day per week; 364-day year with one extra footstep for the 365th day.

A true 7-day week inferred 90-day quarterly 13-week count is not possible in a 30-day month of 20-days plus 10. The Julian Calendar System then would always be more accurate; if it is accurate to begin with. But which accuracy is counted, Hebrew, Muslim, or any one of the multiple Emperors, kings and queens around the world, all of whom [or most of whom] created their own calendar based upon their birthday or the most lucky stars that came after that faulty reading on the days of their births.

Think, research, and write. .  . Good luck

An Approved Star Map of the Catastrophe

Trouble in The Sky
Stela 22 at Izapa:
The Square-Nose Beastie on top of the Roof of the Sky.
Athough the above  is a glphic "map" it is not considered to be a historical one. It does  apear that a lot is going on in the skies over Izapa, in Chiapas, Mexico. What did the Square-Nose Beastie have to so with it?
There he sits on the sky top with his nose awry and his square eye.

Well, for one, he "ate the stars of the Milky Way" and made a path for the bees to attack the humans on earth. There are star-creatures in the "water" under the serpent-held-up "boat."

It would be great if we had a map of the event; or at least a visual portrayal of the event. But first we have to know from where the threat came to our earth. Then it would produce a sort of a time-line if the dates with no month names could ever become a good reference point.

View below is the direction the event came from. If the god is the Death God, then it must be from the Land of Dead in the west.
Dresden -b Venus glph emerhing
From the death headdress with bells
Dresden-c: Venus glyph Man
from Sun and Moon Eclipse
View to the right [or below] tells us it is a special sky event that had eclipsed both sun and the moon.

There is a person in the Bodley Codex of the Mixtecs, who traveled below the Equator. His name was Three Dog.
Bodley Codice: 26-I Rght
He arrived at the Observatory on Sandy River.
Bodley Codex:  25-II Left
His name was Three Dog. His parents sent him south to learn about astronomy so the kingdom would be safe under the guidance of the gods.  Except for a few encounters in the Bodley, very little is known about him.
Bodley Codex: 4-II
There is one item that does stand out about the country: Two splitting mountains appear side by side. Each has a different year glyph beside it. One is dark and the other seems to be lighter.

There is a copy of a map of the Mixtec area to be found on blog March 23, 2013. One particular area that has been mentioned in text was thought to be an old area of Apuala called Lotepec. East was at the top as a brilliant flaming sun on the left side of the arc that supposedly indicated the lost puebla.
Map of Tezacoalco and Apuala. Oxaca
Benson Library at the University of Texas at Austin.
Yes, the sun is there but, if it came from the Northwest, it has to be a comet with the cradle of its birth immediately below it.

Next to it seems to be the constellation Cancer, then Gemini. The Broken Tree of the Milky Way is next with a very bright star to the right if it, called Vega. A small beehive is underneath it, i.e.: Ophiuchus.

A serpent (a very dead Draco) is wrapped around a new tree rising behind a god or a constellation called Orion.

Next to what might be the decapitated head of Draco is a glyph called Three Dog. In front of it ia an axe hanging above a mountain to be split in half.

Modern geology in 1964 has identified a "Shear" separation between Popocatepetl and Ixtacuhuat, the two best-known volcanoes of Central Mexico, that extends from the Puerto Rican Trench in the Atlantic Ocean all the way to Baja Calfornia.

The round map that the star arc is attached to contains the nsme of the astronomer-cartographer, Three Dog. Both the central circular area and the star arc above it were officially approved by Church censors.

Therefore, in site of the mis-information given about the sky chart, both the land map and the sky chart are in the official map corpus of Mexico.

So we have one of the earlest historical sky charts of Mexico that agrees with the Bodley Codex.  Who ever put it on top of the Apuala map wanted us to know the specific dates involved in the splitting of the land. With the new calendar calculations to be presented in this blog. Maybe the true date of the catastrophe can finally be known

The ISIG Problem of the Square-Nosed Beastie

An ISIG is a wide glyph set over two columns of text on stone stelae: Unknown Entity.
Drawn by Carolyn Jones as the ISIG for a resource booklet at the Maya Meeting , 2002, at UT at Austin Texas

At first I believed that above ISIG to be the same as the Square-Nosed Beastie found in the Nuttall Codice, but closer inspection of the ISIG at the beginning of this post and the double panel shown below of the east side of Stela -F proved me wrong.
Nuttall Codex: N-17-MM
The End of the "Star-Eating"  Cycle
Date is 10- Crocodile
Such as the double set below is found on the east side of Stela-F at Quirigua. The ISIG at the top or columns A-B does not have the same iconography as the large version above.

Stela -F  East side with ISIG using the Square-Nosed Beastie.
Drawn by Matthew Looper, author of Lightning Warrior (2003)
The following ISIG actually is the Square-Nosed Beastie from Stelae E. F. and K found at Quirigua. It is only on the east side of Stela-F that it iwass used as the Initial Series Introductory Glyph.

Stela F-East side
ISIG: Square -Nosed Beastie
I have long believed that it was a statement giving the regal power to K'ak Tiliw Yoaat, but when Simon Martin and Nikolai Grube compiled the Chronicle of the Maya Kings and Queens in 2000, it became clear that the stela was a sign indicated for the event of the Square-Nosed. Beastie, Eater of the Stars as found in the Nuttall Codex in the Mixtec area.
Stela F Ka'k Tiliw Chan Yoaat
Or "Fire-Burning Sky Lightning God"
Stela K: K'ak' jo-[lo]-ya Chan-na yo-Yoat:T? ti
Or "Jade Sky"
There seems to be an identification problem with the above two Stelae. A strong family resemblance but not more than the fifth ruler of this dynasty. If the first of these two Stelae was the 14th, then who or what was he, a person or a "god"?

Stela F contains a story about the Square-Nosed Beastie also known as the Star-Eater of the sky ball court i.e.: the Milky Way.

There are dates in this story but they have been skewed to trillions of years in the past.

Unless there is a major correction to the dates, the story cannot be a true source of "power" for any ruler in Quirigua. Mostly because no human existed in that a very long time ago.  There was no one to carry the memory forward into Maya times.

If the Square-Nosed Beastie is (or was) such a strong power source in Quirigua, that in 624 AD was used to introduce the son of Pacal as "he who would inherit Pacal's rule." one year after the death of Ruler 14 in Copan.

It is strange that the Square-Nosed Beastie is so prominent on the tomb of Pacal as the same Tree of Creation, [the Milky Way]---when Pacal introduced his son as the next ruler for the throne when he would die; it makes one wonder why the Square-Nosed Beastie has been ignored for so long. H.m.m.m.m.  Not at Palenque? Look again.

The Temple of the Cross
and the Sarcophagus of Pacal
Justin Kerr: K-688£
Is this bird the death of the Square-Nosed Beastie? It appears to be the last square-breath of a decapitated flying entity with a smoking tail: a tail that spewed enough smoke and dust  into the the stars of the Milky Way that are still hidden in a narrow space that gives appearance of a pathway for bees to go up into the most beautiful rose (now called a Camilla by NASA).

The beautiful rose is that of the Ring Nebula. once a blazing blue star before the Great Tree of Creation broke into two pieces. The broken piece is called the Tree of the Warrior (Orion is inferred).

That story can be seen in the March 23, 2013 blog here.

The Square-Nosed Beastie: Eater of The Stars

N15- BL
The Square-Nosed Beastie at Hom:  Fire in Claws

Many years ago, I discovered the Square-Nosed Beastie. It was part of Linda Schele's very first class at the University of Texas at Austin. She named several Beasties during the class; her first was Lady Beastie, the genetrix of the gods in the beginning of time.

The Squared-Nosed Beastie came next. This creature was completely without any identification, except for the fire in his claws. I never listened too hard to the lectures, I was always fascinated by the glyphs themselves.  And if I saw a different picture in the glyph, it was seldom equal to what was accepted.

Eventually, I attended the Maya Workshops, but not unto 1994 when I met Jan Adams, a woman who insisted that there was a lot of Astronomy data in the glphs. I tried to ignore her beliefs  but from that time on, most of my presentations included star "stuff."  Even so, i still insisted that I was not studying the stars. "

Early, I learned from Linda the explaination of the ISIG, commonly known as the Initial Series Introductory Glyph. This particular glyph always---when it appeared---covered two columns in the stone stelae. The concept was to notify the reader that the two columns were consistently read together. Dates were always the first set of glyphs found under each ISG. Sometimes the dates were easy for me to read and other times, when expanded full figure glyphs were used, I could not.

I was a difficult student. I always looked for a reason that many glyph passages were full of, what Linda called "spaghetti." She warned her students to look past the spaghetti" and look for the cleaner "glyph" elements.

Well, to discover meanings for picture glyphs, for me, meant "look for ideas in other languages." It was definitely, a NO-NO, since the epigraphers insisted that one must study only Maya languages. In the codices, mostly the Mixtec, the glyphs were expanded beyond single cartouche images. They we're always full-figured elements. The Squared-Nosed Beastie was one of them.

In the above drawing, the S-N Beastie was starting out from his sky location. Google would say his location was his home address. He obviously is a very hungry sky traveler. He seems to be eating the stars that surround the mythical ball court of Hunahpu, the Maya sky entity. of the Popol Vuh. Another glyph of the Square-Nosed Beastie shows a slightly different view.

Sitting on top of sky changing roof

The question is:  Does N-18 come before N-17 or is it where it belongs? [And when did the Square-Nose Beastie join into the Turmoil in the sky?]

N-19a-TL
Date: 13-Flower:  No Fire in Claws
This view shows that he has eaten all the stars of the . Ball Court. Since only one other view shows him in the process of eating still more stars, this may be a glyph placed incorrectly. It is possible it belongs to the end of this "Star-Eating" series.

  •  However, if is placed where try in the middle of the two N-15 and N18, then

The End of the "Star-Eating"  Cycle

it not only follows the path of the Madrid Codex, but also agrees with the Ninth Prophecy  of the Hopi.Indians. in order to retain that basic knowledge of their origins, it had to either predate as past history, or post-dated as an event yet to  occur.

Cloud Seeding---Is It Useful.?

During the last week, Texas and many of the Plains States have had torrential rains. More than a week of them, but serious flooding in many areas. Homes have been lost in the flooding waters of rivers and no one has a clue as to why it is so bad this year.

The sky is black today, early in the afternoon. And Austin has been lucky so far. But the heavy rains are to continue the rest of this week. Why?

What does Cloud Seeding actually do?  I have seen the trails in the sky between two clouds that eventually touch each other and then grow a bit wider together. But seldom have I ever seen rain in this area because of the expanded clouds. I doubt if anyone who paid for such service were ever satisfied with the "Results."

Silver oxide is not used, only silveriodide, except I do not know much about either chemical. All I know is that I have seen the plane doing the seeding antd seen how eventually we get a full sky of clouds . .. . but never any rain.

I have read about acres of coral reefs dying; more than 60 acres because of chemical imbalance in the once clear waters of the tropics. I have studied about our altered DST [Daylight Savings] and know our world is no longer where it was 50 years ago.

The other chemicals that are trashed in the oceans, not including the plastic small items that are killing our birds but three mile long trash that includes TV's plastic storage drums. There are quite a few larger items that float and do not deteriorate normally.

But more importantly, there are empty fuel pods from the space shuttles. Don't they produce an acid imbalance when they fall safely into the Seas. It seems to me that acid from empty shuttle fuel pods plus the silveriodide fallout from the cloud seeding is do irreparable harm, whether in the sky or falling to the  land or sea.

One factor that does not ever seem toenter into discussions about our horrible weather patterns is the Jet Stream high over head. It constantly circles out atmosphere and along the way picks up, ocean water via the sun in the water rain cycle of nature and more than a little of the materials [chemicals] used in cloud seeding. Is that how we are getting so much rain all at once?

Such chemical do not deteriorate, but expand even more with their journey on the Jet Stream.#

Venus the Planet. 2-B or not 2-B: Forum XXIInd March 1998

Page II-47 has an interesting statement by Nikolai Grube and Simon Martin, two Mayistas at the University of Texas at Austin that year.

It reads:
"The link between Venus and warfare immediately brings the
Dresden Codex to mind, where the Venus pages show darts
raining down from the star to spear humankind below."

I have checked the Dresden and find no such items raining down enus from any star, not even Venus, the planet. There is on a blanket in the Magliabecchiano Codex a description similar to the text above, but it is not connected to a text with spears.

A Blanket: A Magliabecchiano
Codex Version.
The spear heads above the bird [Seven Macaw] are of obsidian, naturally, but they are stones that will cut even through mountains. There are blue-tipped flames down under the strung-up bird, who is screaming as loud as an eagle.

The blue-tipped flames are noted in the Popol Vuh by Dennis Tedlock in his second edition (and in his first edition) but the fires that came before the stones were noted as the "Rains of Resin" or the "Rains of Turpentine." The dust that fell from the comet stones were very hot and stung like hornets or stinger bees. People and animals ran into shelters; homes where they thought they would be safe.

However, the hot dust set fire to the roofs and the daub and wattle walls of the Maya houses. All then ran desperatelly for the Caves in the mountains nearby. The Caves, according to Tedlock, were shut in the faces of the 'people of clay' and the 'wooden manikins' clamoring to get into the caves on the mountainside. All died when the flood covered even the mountain tops.

The gods then created a third type of man, formed from the massa of ground corn which have existed since that time.  The Dresden does tell the story, but it is better read in the Madrid Codex, pages 103 to 112.

The Dresden, on the other hand, gives a wonderful picture of the birth of the twins which has the appearance of the "venus" glyph. [D-47b} It is located as a hanging element on the head of a skeletal figure from Xibalba, who is pretty obviously the Death God.

The "venus" glyph is no more than the Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalenque coming from the Land of the Dead in the West, that the Popol Vuh identified as the home of Xibalba.

Even the poorest Maya, knows that the west is were people go when they die. The Mixtec know that the Great Sun that came out of the West was just a comet that happened to split the Mountains Popocatepetl and Ixtacuihual and they indicated such on their map of the area in and around Oaxaca.

The Oaxaca map [here March 23, 2013] shows the top decoration of that map:

The Fifth Sun With its Last Trajectory Across the Mixtec Sky
When this map is taught, most of the emphasis is on the Dynastic list of rulers that is on the left side of the map. The decoration above shows a blazing sun in the northwest corner over a cradle, indicating the birth of that "sun." We have just learned that the "sun" is a comet from the west, the Land of the Dead.

So this map is also a star chart with a living comet that went overhead. The cartographer of this map was Three Dog, a gentleman whose parents sent him south to learn about astronomy. He can be found in the Bodley Codex.[Lamina 22-26]

In short, when a scholar takes a codex and does not compare it to any text or traditional lore, he has lost 9/10ths of the ball game. There can be no understanding of the glyphs until all the parts begin to match the traditional learning of the natives.

Turmoil in the Sky

A Blanket: A Magliabecchiano
Codex Version.
There are a variety of stelae in the Maya area that show the same turmoil in the sky as the above blanket. However, the blanket, in color and glyphs, show the sky closer to the Popol Vuh version found on pages 68 to 74. (Tedlock, 1996)

The beginning of the story started in error and is found in Part IV of the Popol Vuh. The First Age is actually the last age after the survivors left the caves.  The Second Age then takes the first position in the story of the disaster beginning in Part One.
of the Popol Vuh.

The clay manikins who softened and dissolved [in water]------not to worry about it.  The next set of manikins were made of wood.   These natives actually fled for the caves. However. he cave were "shut in the faces of those who had not listened to the advice of the astronomers of that era.

The gods decided that the second set was just as useless as the clay men. They decided to end their existence with a flood that was high enough to cover the mountain tops. [This is according to the information given by INAH regarding the Aztec Sun Stone]

So first came the burning fire  and rain of resin [of turpentine]. The fiery dust soon became large stones that began to fall on the land and into the water of the Gulf and of the Atantic Ocean.  Larger ones fell into the Puerto Rican trench and caused a sheer thrust to pass through the land of the Aztecs. It separated the two mountains Popocatepetl and ixtacuihuatl on its way to Baja California, and met the cleft between the mainland and Baja that is still called the San Andreas Fault. The water between the two pieces of land, because of the outflow of the Colorado River, became the Red [mud] Sea. [Cortes sailed on the Mar Vermejo {Red Sea} soon after the conquest of Tenochtitlan.]
Stela 22: Izapa - Turmoil in the Sky
V. Garth Norman: Plate 36

Stela 67: Izapa - After the Event
V. Garth Norman: Plate 54
And the stones that fell into the water in the Gulf of Mexico bounded up and down until they sped in different directions until water of the Gulf cooled the stones enough that they lay dormant on the sea bed. But not until several gods were delivered to different places, like Huitzilopochtli to Lake Texcoco; a fire ball roaring through the mountain pass, as a beast with spines of fire on his back, to Cuzco, Peru and several stones landed in the Pampas of Argentina, grazing the curved land as if boys were skipping the great stones over the of waters of a lake or of a pond. Argentina too, had myths about those stones, that tell of  a fiery beast that sped westward.

Both pictures above show a boat in two different situations with the same snaggle-toothed man under the same sky-roof slanted at 23.5 degrees. The turmoil in the sky is very apparent in Stela 22. All the dragon-serpents have squared eyes. That is to say: They are amazed at what is happening in the Sky above. This is a Teotihuacan modismo: "Mis ojos son cuadrados." that I was fortunate to hear and understand during a dinner one day in Tapachula. Chiapas.

Stela 67 was partially destroyed, so the roof there is only half visible, but the angle is still the same. It shows the rainbow of the sky, which is the promise of no more burning rains. It does not show the Egyptian Ankh, More likely Snaggle-tooth is holding two of the sky-serpents. The sky-bands for the gods below each of the stelae are in the helmets of both versions. The fish are only necessary to show that the waves were of the sky [salt*] river, the Milky Way.

Stela 67 is the event after the great turmoil that has a Stela on page 42 of the Uxmal Official Guide [dated March 15, 1978] showing the very same sky disturbance, with men dying under the platforms and a fiery roof {of feathers**] overhead with large-beaked individuals at the side viewing the action.

The geologists still insist the event happened about 65 million years ago. But no one can explain how mankind could recall something that occurred before they populated the earth. It seems that the Iridium layer that killed all the marsh animals, is the culprit here. The iridium layer is star materials that fell as burning resin or turpentine of the Popol Vuh.

Therefore, the star-dated materials had to be from prehistoric or pre-creation times. No telling how long that star material was heating up in a spinning star in the process of dying before it turned completely blue and exploded. As a result it met the double comet head-on as it came from the northwest, the Land of the Dead, shown in the Dresden Codex [D-47b ] with its complete story, just as it was told in the Popol Vuh.

Aztec Calendar Stone and its Times: Part One

The Aztec Cslendar Stone, [Cuauhxicalli] Eagle's Bowl weighs 25 tons and its diameter is 3.6 meters. It was discovered buried in the Southeast corner of the zocalo [main plaza of the city of Mexico] on December 17, 1760. Don Joaquin de Monaserrat, Marquis of Cruillas. was Viceroy of New Spain at that time.

Later it was taken to the Metropolitan Cathedral and placed o the West Tower until 1885 when President Genera Porfirio Diaz ordered its transfer to the National Museum of Archaeology and History. It had been carved  during the reign of the 4th Aztec Axayacatl and dedicated to the Sun God. It has both Myth and Astronomical characteristics.  [This information has been taken from a flyer done by INAH.]

Its most important features are the glyphs for the Four Ages of the Sun and the two serpents of fire---one of the night and the other, the day---that surround the stone at its outer edge.  Coatlicue, with her tongue as a  obsidian knife, and great claws, is its natural center. However, most of its historical information is contained in the research done  regarding the Four Ages of the Sun.

":  First Age was called the Sun of Oceletoatiuh.  It was the most remote of the four epochs in which giants lived on the mountains. They had no agriculture; they only ate wild fruits and roots and lived in the caves. Evenutally, the jaguars attacked and devoured them. This Aztec Epoch goes back to the Quaternary era, since bones of Pre-Deluvian animals were found buried in deep gullies below dense Lythospheric layers."  The years atributed to this age is 676 years. (For all Ages of Sun: Leon-Portilla, 1963, 38-39)

True, the animals found in the deep gullies were pre-Deluvian. The People who lived in the caves did have to eat wild fruit and roots, but that was because they were close to starvation themselves. Their food supply had run out before the Sun finished its journey of 676 days, which is more probable than 676 years. They would have died in the first year or two if they had to wait until the 676 years were over since no food was available outside of the caves for a long time after the flood.

What? After the flood? But that did not come until the fourth era. Does that mean that this first era was actually the fourth?

"The Second Age was named Ehecatonatiuh [Sun of the Wind]. (364 years) When the winds subsided, all humanity---outside of the caves---were destroyed. Those in the caves were then thought to have survived because the gods turned them into apes. so they could cling better to the trees and not be carried away by the hurricanes. Yet, large forests had been razed by tornados." So it was unlikely that the people in the caves became monkeys.  Since the great winds came with the gods, but before the flood, it should be the First Age of the Sun, not the Second.

The Third Age of the Sun---that of Quiauhtonatiuh, the Sun of the Fire-Rains and Lava--(312 years) -then should be the Second Age. But it is here that I digress.

The Third Age of the Sun and the Fourth Age called Atonatiuh [Sun of Water] is the wife of Tlaloc, the god of the Fiery Rains. And being married, they must share the same house. Therefore, since the Fiery-Rains came after the great winds, and the flood quenched the burning rains [as was found in the Popol Vuh], this must not be a Fourth Era only a Third. and when the years of the two eras are added together, they equal 676, then it must be so. And the very First Era of the Sun becomes that Third Era and the Second becomes the First.

In other words:
The First Era                    Ehecatonatiuh [Sun of the Wind]--676 yrs
The Second Era               Quiauhtonatiuh, the Sun of the Fire-Rains/Lava--364 yrs
and Atonatiuh [Sun of Water] --312 yrs
The Third Era                   Sun of Oceletoatiuh. The God of the Night Skies--676 yrs

When the God of the Fire-Rains began to drop burning resins, all the people and animals ran into the houses for protection. But when an earthquake knocked down the houses; the grinding stones fell from the shelves, together with the ollas and platos, supposedly attacking the humans. The roofs caught fire from the fiery rains. (Tedlock, D. 1996, 72)  The people ran for the caves on the side of the mountain. But the caves slammed shut in their faces. [Ibid, (1996, 73) It was then that the water came roarng in from the sea, and fell over all the land, all humanity who had not listened to the astronomers were lost.

So the rains of resin or of turpentine, fell from the sky in the first era. However,  the lava did not come until the stones fell from the sky and created earthquakes. So earthquakes had been left out of the tale completely. But not so in the Popol Vuh. Kab'racan was destroyed by Hunahpu and Xbalenque, the blazing two-entity comet that was illustrated on the wall-mural of Chichen Itza.

The First Era                    Quiauhtonatiuh, the Sun of the Fire-Rains/Lava
The Second Era               Ehecatonatiuh [Sun of the Wind]
Sun of Oceletoatiuh. The od of the Night Skies    and
The Third Era                 Atonatiuh [Sun of Water]

The Second version of the four suns might be a better explanation of the two serpents around the rim of the Sun Disk which were comets of fire; one that came during the night and the other that out-shone the sun, so that it was the Sun had set a mirror in the sky at noon and returned to the east. (Ibid, 161 and Note on page 304)

Within the "Secrets of the Aztec Sun Stone," more information about the last age Ocelotonatiuh which was considered to be the oldest and therefore the very first age of the sun. After the Russian 2013 comet, one finds  Ehecatonatiuh actually is the forerunner of any comet's arrival.

So, it should be “The First [Second] Epoch or age of the sun. The Fire Rains was the next and the Sun of Water extinguished the fires of the "rain of resin" or of "turpentine from Tlaloc's passage. His wife quelled the fires because she cooled his intensity which turned into the fires that began to burn not only the roofs of the homes, but also the backs of all animals, wild and tame, as in the Russian comet of 1911 when animals were found with burns on their backs.

That left the age of Ocelotonatiuh, the Janguar which  “was the Fourth [First] and least [most] remote of the Four Cosmogonic Epochs; in which the giants who had been created by the Gods, lived. They did not till the soil and lived in caves. Ate wild fruits and roots, and were finally attacked and devoured by the Jaguars….” The basic epoch of the Aztecs goes back to the Quatngbernary, since they discovered bones of pre-Diluvian animals buried in deep gullies below dense Lithospheric [Earth turned to stone] Layers.

The mud from under the sea which came with the great waves covering the mountain tops, is Cretaceous, but not of an age on top of the earth. It came from the depths of the ocean where the stones of the comet fell. After the stones stopped dropping from the sky, there was a fine layer of dust called Iridium, which gave us, not the age of the earth, but the age of the star that exploded in the sky previously and the Twin comet picked up, only to dust the earth after the main drop of stones.

Why the jaguars? Both men and animals, fled to the caves for protection of the fires. The men [and women] brought supplies of food, and fuel. But even those supplies ran out before the three events past overhead. When the men attempted to leave the caves to see about what was left of their homes, the jaguars also left in order to look for food.. None being available, the jaguars attacked lone men. So the next set of humans that left the caves, joined together to help protect each other. Hence, the Age of the Jaguars, came after the fiery rains and the wall of water. The survivors who eventually saw the "birth of the last blazing sun" were not in the best of condition. Their clothing was worn out, their food was gone. Tohil, the old god, no longer could protect them, Quetzalcoatl, the Sovereign Serpent, became the New god of that age, which continues even to today.

Really, the combined tales of the Maya and the Aztecs do connect. Both are convoluted stories that have their narrators hidden, even though all are in plain sight at all times. The "Narrators" (Ibid, 1996, 63) are the words that are to be spoken, no more; no less.

Ketu: The Serpent with a Star Head

Draco or Ketu serpent with star head
The  star, Draco, as the star head of a sky serpent, is an astronomy entity, that also wears the name of Ketu, who became Vishnu.

However, Shiva, the serpent of fire, with a magic disk, battled with Ketu, and split him into two elements of the sky.

It seems that as two elements of the sky, he was the broken tree where, Vega, a neighbor to a flaming nova, resided. There was a shift of our magnetic north, and Draco was no longer our North Star beacon.

Shiva, as the serpent of fire, sped on his way, unconcerned with the turmoil in the sky. He had other things to attend to. The fires he sent out from his third eye, when his wife playfully covered his two eyes, were causing havoc with his earthly domain. It had to be rectified quickly.

Quick he patched the star tree, upside down to  the roots of the northern tree and visited a small domain, he had discovered when he slipped through a narrow mountain pass on the other side of the sea before he succeeded in connecting the star trees. It was a bit crooked but it was sufficient to create a beautiful road from pole to pole.  Then he returned home to his wife. He told her he had dedicated the beautiful new roadway to her because he wanted her to remember that his care of the world was his main work. The road was for her to plant roses so her flowers would bloom with perfume. Thus she became busy with the flowers and Shiva could take cae of the earthlings.

Three Great Waves

A Rocky Coast, in an Unknown Land
A map is not only a map, it can carry more information than expected. The Gronland Map by S. Stefansson, is one such map. It was found in another book entitled The Vineland Map and the Tartaar Relation. Plate XVII: Map of the North, Royal Library, Copenhagen, Denmark.[1]
The Vineland Map and the Tartaar Relation.
Plate XVII: Map of the North Sea,
Royal Library, Copenhagen, Denmark.
I found this map and consider it another map that contains anti-political (of the time it was created) rendition of an older map or maps, that once was in the cartographer's possession. In actuality is a sea map that shows the countries in a certain latitude near the main area of Greenland. However, the west coast appears to have Baja California and a section of the east, that includes the Yucatan, the Gulf of exico and Florida.  It is a simple procedure of putting land where there is sea water and lake water instead of the islands which are so obvious.

It is a very crude rendition of the North American Continent, but a description of Karlfin Porfinni in an earlier voyage, to somewhere, described the fishing weirs of the Aztecs in Lake Texcoco comparing the nets used to catch fish with threshing poles of his homeland because of the clacking sounds [very like the swinging threshers] were so clear to him. The crystal mountains, Popocatepetl and Ixtacuihuatl, forever covered with snow were mentioned. He also described a fish that I saw on the Gulf in an estuary behind the beach: a baby manta ray, very small, covered with sand with only its eyes showing.

Greenland (Gronland) has a strange story of three super waves that once inundated the land. Ireland also has a strange historical statement: that of a monk in an isolated cliff side monastery who claimed to have seen the sea on fire.

Now such a sea fire could have been a sailing ship sent out as a flaming funeral pyre which was common in the 11th century AD, however, such can never explain the three huge waves that hit Gronland, [Greenland] so many previous eons ago or even in later centuries.

After the time the Vinland book was published, Nature Magazine ran a research paper about the off-shore oil rigs in the North Atlantic Sea by co-authors: Lubonir F. Jansa, and  Georgia Pe-Piper, [my correspondent in 1987] [2].

"Extraterrestrial," as a word, was popular during that year.  A California researcher, had just discovered that an iridium layer was the reason that all the huge prehistoric creatures of the swamplands near rivers were wiped out. Jansa and Pe-Piper's paper also mentioned that a 0.22% layer of iridium was identified in the concentric craters near the oil rigs. Concentric, means having a common center, a common occurrence with a multiple meteorite fallout.

Now between Ireland [3] and Nova Scotia, there were the three huge waves of water that inundated Greenland (Gronland). In Ireland---the moonk'a name was Saint Columkile---a name as fake as the Greenland map.BUT the map is NOT a fake, it just has more information in it than one would expect from a time when people knew little about cartography, and books as we know them were rare.

The name of the monk is not fake either, nor was the name Rosault It actually tells about the column of water that killed, first the fish in the sea, then the birds in the air and finally men and beasts on the land. The manuscript, the Book of the Dun Cow and has such myths about rare beasties.

The beastie serpent of the sea had three more names: beast, piast and nathir [serpent].  A name for each of its journeys out of the great well.  Another tale, was about the fairy palaces under the sea that were ablaze with lights, gems and gold. It seems to me that the monk was corrext in saying the "sea was on fire." when the water serpent rose from the depths of the ocean.

Of course, the whole world recovered that big splash into the North Atlantic Sea and all was forgotten. The survivors were too busy trying to restore their homes and farmlands.

What? There were survivors who needed to restore their homes and farmlands? How ridiculous! The iridium layer was dated  more or less 65 million years ago. And humans did not appear on the earth until 25 million years ago.

Yet, there are many tales around the world about a great blue star in the sky that was self-destructing just as a pair of comets passed by. The comets picked up the debris when that star exploded and carried much of it to earth.[5]  The complete story, with dates[6], can be found in the Maya highlands. There are many monuments there---and other places in the world---that tell of the turmoil in the skies besides a detailed history of the event.

The waves in the seas that roared inland and covered the mountain tops have been recorded there also. Tsunamis? Before such inundations were even identified and named? There is no record? Yet the Cretaceous era of Geology on land has never been accurately dated.

So which ancient history can verify, or at least relate to such destruction?

A more recent  tsunami the 27th of July 1998, had a schoolgirl quesstion a University of Ssouthern California volunteer geologist and he was bothered a bit by it. She asked why the sea was on fire? He could give no answer, because Water does not burn. He assumed it wwas the dinoflagelletes that had been disturbed by the force of the tsunami.  she was obviously imagining things.

But what if Saint Columkille of Ireland;  the Greenland three wacves were real;; the CEPC research; and the girl survvivor at Papua, NG were correct and the sea had been on fire because of a huge meteorite that hit the water, a distance from the islands?  It is really something to consider, I thuink.
