Conflicting Essays in scholarship which have been the most engaging research job I have ever done. I have also added, over the years, queries about our "dated" geology with their "computerized" confirmations together with climate changes denied since 1963. The Ten-O'clock News have been telling us to change our clocks for DSL and back again BUT no one as noticed it has been changed, more than a few years ago, from March 31 and October 31, to a week or so earlier or even a week or so later.

Is There a Climate Change in Texas?

I live in Austn Texas. Has anyone noticed the Climate Changes here?

Austin Texas in May has always been, not warm months, but instead, very warm months.
However, this past April was almost a dry month with very little rain, until the Middle orf May, when it
suddenly turned chily. even with a hot sun during the day. Horribly strong rain storms have attacked
our state for days at a time. bUT ALL DRING THE MONTH OF MAY,not April.
Has our climate changed tio northern April and May weather patterns? If so does anyone happen tio know where our North Pole is located?  The last I read about it, about two or three months aqo, was in a Science note that our North Pole had migrated to a new location over Russia.
Is there any further information about this?  Way backi in 2007 a curious reporter for the Tampa Tribune happened
to notice that the ends of there in and out runways at the airport had men painting azimuth degrees that were 10
degrees different from the original numbers that had been there. Has this happened again? Have the azimuth
degrees have been altered so the planes can find airport  arrival runways in different cities?
Is Texas the only state that has had changes of clkimae? Have northern weather patterns traveled south?
Or is this my oi=]imagination

4 AHAU 8 KUMK'u

4 AHAU 8 KUMK’U
By D, M, Urquidi
04-08-2019

I have never chosen to visualization of any glyph text in depth, but in this case the following information was submittd to the Internet by David Stuart:

In the correlation I’ve made the “three stone-binding glyph” (see: Quirigua      Stela C, A6) is a reference to the three “Nameless k’alaj tuun days,” they are the first three (nameless k’alaj tuun) days in the Maya Long Count calendar.
The “k’alaj may glyph” (see: the Tablet of the Cross, C3) is a reference to the five “nameless k’alaj may days”, to the last five “nameless k’ahlaj tuun days” of  the last 260-years before 13.0.0.0.0 4 Ajaw 8 Kumk’u.” (David Stuart, 2011)

The number thirteen is extremely important to any calculation David computed regarding astronomy, His most prominent example is 13.0.0.0.0; 4 AHAU 8 KUMK’U for the beginning of a new era of 260 YEARS?
The Number of DAYS is actually 270 for three seasons of 90 days each. The 260 is probably a medical number based upon a human pregnancy. The Maya use of the 26(0) is 26 weeks or half of 52 weeks in a year. The 260 has been calculated ever since Rome decided the Maya  had to be calculated with the European version of a calendar when the First Month of the Year was introduced to Mexico in 1584, as 0 POP.
In 1584, Rome identified  0 POP as the first month of the New (European-type) Mexican Year. inferred in the Madrid  Codex but not identified there as a year. [Its date was taken from July 26.] Then, also in the Madrid, in the SERPENT CALENDAR, 1-IMIX was placed as the First Day of the First Week of 52 Weeks which was taken from February 8th.  (Castillo-Torre, 1955, 193)
The Maya scribe for the Horizontal Trecena [here called the Serpent Calendar], then placed a very prominent caveat. Immediately after week 46, that began with KIMI [Death], another KIMI was placed after IK  in week 47, where MANIK would have gone.
The double caveat of KIMI is a specific warning that the Horizontal Trecena could not mesh with the Vertical version if the IMIX was used as the First day of the year, displayed here:
The Trecena

The Trecena with the Names

Four Versions of the "Vertical Trecena"
ig., 01:  Vertical Trecena with a One at the beginning
and another One at Thirteen!
Did anyone understand that there was a Vertical AND a Horizontal Trecena? Or that the 01 to 13 is and was never counted with the Day Names?
One to thirteen had its own purpose: that of an agricultural cyclical “loop;” as a control  in maintaining a fertile harvest in three different years for milpas. The first mipa was to be planted; the second was to be left dormant; while the third was to be burned in order to plant the corn the following year. In that sequence each milpa could guarantee an good harvest.
Since few archaeologists study farming before going out into the field, few understand why such milpas had to be maintained. The  farmers had tio feed their families as they harvested their crops; then they had to make sure that their families could afford what they did not have time to create for themselves.
David Stuart made another  reading the dates:
I disagree with the underlined text in Note II. Using the “three stone-binding glyph” as the “three nameless k’alaj  tuun days”, the “k’alaj may glyph” and the “stone-binding glyph” as the “nameless k’ahlaj tuun days” 260 Haab’ equals 93600 days + 1363 “nameless k’alaj tuun days” or 94963 days.
On page 221 of  THE ORDER OF DAYS (Stuart 2011) . . . . .
“Another. . .  . . is that the three stones of the Stela C text refer to . . . . . a geometric ideal that’s reflected in several different kinds of triadic arrangements and dimensions in Maya cosmology. As we’ve  seen, three part divisions of space are common in the Mesoamerican , most obviously in the fundamental division of the worl. . . .; . into sky, earth, and Underworld.“
“I’m reminded also of the basic three part movement perceived in the coursing of celestial bodies across the sky, emerging from the east, running above the earth and noon and setting in the west, what K’ikché Maya of today call “the three sides, the three corners.”
“In other words, we need not link the hearth of Maya     Creation mythology to a specific constellation of stars..”

Actually, there is a constellation that can be referred to as the THREE CORNERSTONES OF MAYA MYTHOLOGY: THE NORTHERN CROSS [also called Cygnus; and the SUMMER TRIANGLE.] The LAST NAME  is specifically A TRIANGLE. DENEB is the apex star in the Tree of the Beautiful Flower. Deneb is a nebula to the east of Vega another important star in the triangle, His designation is NCG7000. It also has the appearance of a skull with an open mouth. Deneb also is northwest of the star VEGA.

fig:, 02: The Lord of the Underworld,
with the “venus:” glyph of two star forms

There are two stars dropping ot of the upside down ’venus’ glyph of Two Comets, Or two Spear Heads on One Shaft. The source of light will come from the great sun of the headdress of the Lord of the Dead  who is sounding the death bells that will announce death to all from the serpentine comets falling from the bells.

The other half of the Milky Way is called the Tree of the Warrior [Orion]. Not a problem since it is on the other side of the world.

“To me, the sense is more general and overarching, clarifying that on the day of Creation, the gods established a three part dimension to the universe, complementing .  . . . other numbers,. . . . .reflected in the structures of the cosmos.”
“Returning to the textual description of the episode, just what is meant by the “changing of the image” or “changing of the mask”? . . . . . Perhaps the word k’oj refers to masks, images, or faces that should be equated in some manner with the three sacred stones dedicated on that day by the gods. I suggest this as a possibility because we’ve known that three stone heads or masks along a celestial band comprise an important cosmological symbol for the Classic Maya, most often manifested as small portrait heads attached to “sky-belts” worn by Maya kings as . . . . .  for period-ending rituals. The ‘change of masks” . . . . refer to the idea of the cosmos getting a new identity of some type-a makeover of sorts-which in turn became symbolically reflected in the ritual dress of Maya kings, and especially in their cosmic belts

If the Cosmos acquired a new face or “mask,” the thing to do would hv been to look at the myths of a cosmic disturbance; not only at the Maya but also at the rest of Mesoamerica. A good place to start would have been with the Aztec Sun Stone., discovered buried in the Southeast corner of the Zocalo in 1790     during rthe repairs of the Main Plaza.

It is how to read the stone clearly as a Wind/Motion glyph using the Epochs of the Sun as its focal points. The disaster began with the Great Wind of Ehecatl confirmed in the Popol Vuh in that order; nott of the Ocelots, who left the caves when the men searched for food at home.

After the Great Wind came the7 Rain of Fire. which was quenched by the waters of Tlaloc’s wife, Chalchiuhtlicue. [This now relates to a wife who cools the ardor of a man.] After her flood, the caves were unsealed. The sun was still too bright to be out in the daylight, so the men would walk to their milpas in the cool of the evening to try to find their homes. When a man was alone, the hungry ocelots would attack. It was necessary for the men to travel in groups thereafter.

As for when the “sky changed its face;”  it was after the stone from the sky fell into the Caribbean Sea that the skies had been changed because the waters of the flood burst over the mountains. This had been an excellent reason to seal up the caves.

”On page 216-219 of  THE ORDER OF DAYS (Stuart 2011) . . . read:
“a. This  4 Ahau 8 Kumk’u date is explained . . . . in the inscription of a tall monument erected in . . . Quiriguá, Guatemala, known to archaeologists  as Stela C.”
“b. The left side begins with an Initial Series date, a Long Count, written as 13.0.0.0.0 4 Ahau 8 Kumk’u.

Even though there were NO month names until 1584, when Rome insisted that the Maya had to have months that were named properly”.

“A record of the events . . . . .(see page 218). In the first we find a small X-like element, which we know from Maya syntax represents the core or “root” of  a verb. There is some evidence, not completely secure as yet, that this X-sign reads jel , a word in Maya languages. . . . . . meaning “to switch” or “to change-over”.
‘What changed? . . . . . . . that the Quiriguá glyph is a shortened form of the word koj ba, perhaps pronounced and spelled sometimes as k’o-ba.
“The best reading of this word, I believe, is based on the root k’oj, meaning “image, mask.” In Yucatec Mayan, the equivalent of k’ohbäil, “image, form, portrait, “ and in Ch’ol Mayan the equivalent is k’ohbäjil, with a somewhat related meaning of “head, face.” Both of these are in turn related to the widespread Mayan word k’oj, meaning “mask.” The idea . . . . . . . . . .centers on the key notion that one’s head or face is what conveys one’s image and identity. The larger glyphic phrase therefore may. . . .mean something like this:
“jehlaj k’oj baah, the face-image changed
“Rather enigmatic. . . . . .  Next comes a glyph with the number three, but it’s not a date. It’s another sentence that reads:
“ux k’ahlaj tuun
Thrice are bound(?) the stones”
“This refers to an important ceremony of stone dedication,. . . . . during a period ending, when the.three . . . . . bound together as a mark of its competition. Here, three stones were similarly set together in primordial time.”

“QUIRIGUÁ Stela C (left side; the events)
1. jehlaj k'o'b' The hearth was changed
2. k'ahlaj ux tuun three stones were tied.

Of course, this would infer the Milky Way made its first appearance in the sky. and the Northern Cross (Cygnus) was clearly identifiable as the Summer Triangle.,

‘9. i uhtiiy k'al tuun naah itzam[naa]j:
. . . . .. the Naah Itzamnaaj stone binding.
“10. ha' tz'am tuun: {or] . . . . the Water Throne Stone
“Remark: according to me the Naah Itzamnaaj stone binding        refer. . . . .  to the third “nameless k’ahlaj tuun day”. It also refers to the connection between [from] the upperworld [to] and the underworld.

Obviously, when the stones fell from the sky [upper world] into the Caribbean Sea. [Lower world]

“After these three “nameless k’ahlaj tuun days”, “the birth [in this case], the (re-)creation  of the Maya calendar . . . .”

This also follows the Popol Vuh, and the Aztec Sun Stone.
The inference here is that the 260 days became the official count of the extra days instead of the correct 270-days for three seasons: Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Was it inferring that the caves remained closed for that length of time? Or in that a baby was born when the caves had been unsealed?

Four Versions of a Vertical Trecena

Four Versions of the "Vertical Trecena"
If one looks at this chart and reads the names associated with the numbers, one to thirteen, one finds a similar name for the 13 and for the following 01. It does not matter what the language, nor where it is located Withot the words cionnected tto the number one CANNOT use the "Horizontal Trecena" which is found iu the Madrid Codrex as the Serpent Calendar,. to mesh into the "Vertical Trecena."
As it is, when using Rome's name for the FIRST DAY OIF THE MAYA YEAR; IMIX, as the first glyph indicates, is a deliberate error, inserted by Rome.

There is no way there is a giood match., The exception is that the scribe who drew out/ the Serpent Cakendar of the Madrid Codex inserted

a caveat in Columns 46 and 4?.

CIMI IK

Chuen CIMI [should be MANIK]
If MANIK is used steadd of CIMI, and the last columns finished with the First column being placed into column 52; the Horizontal Trecena will slide Manik into secoind place as the Vertical Trecena continues=as a proper "loop" for three more agricultural years of nourishing the milpas in a proper sequence..

For those who do not know how to create the Horizotal Trecena, one must remember that each column only rotates with the four units found in the vertical version by itself . The last glyph moves always to the top witthin EACH cycle of twenty working days per week.

CONCLUSION

Four working days per week is the same concept we have of only working Monday through Friday with two days of rest.

A Battle for the Eyes: Glaucoma vs Cataracts

How many people have Glaucoma or Cataracts

I went t a gathering of friends a while back and heardthat Cataracts go for long time befre they can be seen in the eyes. The person who told me that was  ovr 65.

I immediately decided it was a great push to sell an eye operation, even though such medical procedures provide glowing reports of sight inprovement many of those who had got the medcial advice and have been given eye exams never had cataracts to begin wih. There  are many who never had cataracts before (or those having been cured from the threat of cataracts even after having had such procedures.

in 96, I turned 66 yo.  I was surprised when my most trusted optomitrist  told me I now had Social Security and they wouid pay for Lasik surgery  on my eye. Why I asked?  Well, you do have a cataract in one eye.

I am now 87 and never had any sugery for cataracts. I can still count leaves on high tree branches and wires strung acoss the sky on poles that carry electricity. But when I goi toi get an eye exam, hoping I can get a pair to read wih, I get a great variety oif excuses; ending always being told I have cataracts,

Sometimes, I( am treated lke a fooil,.The examninber will ssay "Oh, I have to call  a girl who will hold your eyelds up because the are drooping so, I cannot see the eye properly after shooting the eye with air with the machine for glaucoma,
The oher excuse is that cataracts may take many years to grow.
Then why haven't I gone blind yet?
'
Bow about all those success stories?   Did those people have cataracts? Or did they believe they might have them?

“People Created” problems

Ocean  Jetties  built out into the ocean in order to keep drifters out of expensive Hotels privatized beaches turned out to be more dangerous than helpful.. In  1982 I was in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico, near the Pacific Ocean.
A few yearrs before I arrived, boulder jetties were run our into the ocean. The money men
Decided that the beach near Tapachula was the perfect place to build a cove for the Tourist trade.Restaurants would be basic palm covered roofs and plank tables and benches.
A very modern Rest Room was created and everything was good to go. People could take a cruise down the Pacific from San Diego, California, and visit different coves along the way. Tourist items be made available,

The beaches in the area were pristine and very wide. Epensive hxmes were built along a brand new tarmac road with modern lights for night driving. And a sand digging machine was purchased for any extra said brought by storms or normal wave action.

The exception was NOT ONE person knew what the wave action would do. The young lady of 20 years or so took us on a short tour of the area. She said the beach had been her playgroundl when she was younger.  Part of her tour included the remains of her old home on the Beach. It was a red brick corner of what she told us once was the family house. THe house had easy access to the new road except the beach seemed to be getting shorter and shorter. After a good storm, the whole family was looking forward to spending the summer at the house by the road.

When they arrived. They were shocked. There was no house and the road had deep gouges in it. The lamplights were rusted and bent. The cove restaurants were covered with sand and the new sanitary  facilities were scattered all over the sand. The red brick building no longer existed. The family home no longer existed. Needless to say, the beach no longer existed either.

Where the new road had been compromised, they had brought in more boulders to stop the sea from eating any more of the tarmacadam asphalt out of the roadway. The sea asked no questions, did not warn anyone of impending danger. It just did its normal routine.

When I read that Miami, Florida, where I had lived for 17 years, had its main downtown street (Flagler) flooded one year because of a hurricane. I was appalled. The next year or so, the two neighbor hotels on Miami Beach got flooded. The Eden Roc and the Fountainbleau Hotels had been side by side but to privatize the beaches like the other hotels on the ocean side, all hotels along the way had put out jetties so the riff-raff, regular swimmers and beachgoers would not interfere with their  beach front valet services.

Miami had begun a flurry of condominiums along Bayfront Park as far west as Viscaya, the mansion on the waterfront, where they used to have art and selling art weekends every year. I had sold a set of blue sketched statues of the garden there one year. A great time in Miami.

This past summer, I read about the area of the condos and found that it had also had flooding problems. Outdoor cafes had to build seawalls around their restaurants because the land had sunk below the street levels. Drinking water was more difficult to find. Waste water pipes were constantly breaking or leaking because the water level kept rising. It was getting higher every year.  Both drinking water and sanitation began to be a huge problem.

The whoie state is having the very same problem as Miami and Miami Beach, Florida.

Sinkholes in the state were multiplying. Over 15000 in the north area along.  People were offfered insuramce $3.000 per year, after a geologish assured people their house was safe from sinkhole damage. A man died the night after he was told his house was safe. The sinkhole took his whole bedroom and left the house itself intact.  The insurance companies found that they were paying $192,000 for houses that fell into the sinkholes. And naturally, most insurance companies went broke very quickly.

Disney lost a hotel at CLerburne. The guests were able to crawl out the windows on the top floor to get out, before it sunk into the sea underneath.  Prices at Disney were jacked to make up the difference in their holdings in the stock markets.
Why were such things occurring in FLorida and ocean fronts?  The sea water which was killing the coral beds had acidified to where the water had begun to erode the coral rock that held up the whole of the peninsula of Florida.  The coral rock base began to melt in tiny sections until it crumbled in bigger areas.

Flooding on the rivers.

Did anyone ever read Mark Twain? His years on the Mississipi River will be an eye opener.  The Civil Engineers with all of their schooling could not, even to this day, control the river. Islands that were on the west coast of the river, suddenly became part of the land on the east coast of the river and in a completely different state.
Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn’s adventures tell of people who thought they could survive the river, but ended up sitting in their front windows watching the shoreline go by. Eventually the river tore the house-----they thought would be safe-----into matchsticks.
Modern hurricane Katrina did even more damage to Ward Nine in New Orleans. The levees were built higher for the next hurrican, but no one knows how the river will twist or turn when it reaches the new levees, or how long they will last against the river.

Air:  Making Chemical Rain Clouds
Acidifies the oceans; kills coral reefs
Flora:  GMO yields vs Sustainable Crops
GMO seeds have no replanting capabilities.
When we have no more seeds that will produce
Food, there will be a great famine in the land.
A farmer who has to produce a big crop, but who cannot
plant a home garden for his family has to pay for food like
everyone else. The same farmer not only has to produce a
Large crop, but also has to purchase more GMO seed to replant
another, plus special concoctions that will kill newer bugs and slugs.
This has led to over 2,000 suicides in India alone. Sustainable Crops
Allow the farmers to not only grow crops that produce more seed, but also
Allow the farmers to feed their family and make some money from the home
Gardens for essentials, like tools, clothing, and sending his children to schools.

.Maya "Bible" the Popol Vuh

I deal in the Maya "bible" the Popol Vuh. and periodically I got south to the unknown Peruvian
caiman and its relationship to the stars.
One item fascinates me.
01: The fact that in Peru, Deneb is NOT the apex of the Summer Triangle. Vega is and became their Baby Llama
Does that mean that the furthermost southern stars go sky-wise, as the main northern stars which just shift their positions to become other constellations in the far south?
Your blue god[dess] was named Tlaltecuhtli but becomes"The Hand of God"in the constellation Compass abd [beecame the wounded wrist of the Greek goddess Aphrodite who bled----Iyi-Kor----with the translateion of "Slow burning ash."

02: It is the first confirmation of the god Tlaloc, who appears on the Great Sun Stone as
the Quiauhtonatiuh as el Sol del de la Lluvia del Fuego, or the Sun of Fire Rain. [the burning rain].

03: The strange description of the single eye of Seven Macaw of the Turquoise Teeth which had been removed by the comet called Hunaphu (the night version) Xbalengue (the day version) when the Twins as they played dentist and removed and replaced the tturquoise rteeth with white maize.

The Aphrodite story is that Zeus told her to remove herself from the battle of the Iliad.
because of her wrist wound that spewed ICHOR, an unknown word in Greek but an excellent
word in Turkish----IYI-KOR---- which translates as the "long-burning ash" [rain] found in the Popol Vuh.

03: As the fire rains of Tlaloc, finally doused by the Water Rain [Deluge] of Atonatiuh his wife, Chalchiuhtlicue She is of the Sol del Aqua, [the Sun of Water]. This affirms an idiomatic concept that a husband's burning ardor can be extinguished by the calming act of sex with his wife.

Now, this seems to be a round-about way to go, but most mythic stories have an eye or a hand involved in the burning of the earth; creating deserts along the path of the day-night comet. (day in the north and night in the south?)

As mentioned above, Deneb, shifted to Vega [and became the "Baby Llama"] but did it go farther south become the Compass constellation. And if so, is the Southern Cross, our Northern Cross whose apex is Deneb create the Southern Cross by the short yearly journey of the Sun between the Tropic of Cancer (North) to the Tropic of Cancer (South), a simplistic twist of only 47 degrees

One can see that the Milky Way might have been wrapped around ot Equator until the Event of the Sovereign Serpent's arrival in the Popol Vuh. It was then that the Twins had to "recover" the remains of their father, so he could be seen in the sky as Deneb at the apex of the Milky Way.

Vega is visually near the Ring Nebula which became the Tree (Via Lacta) of the beautiful  Rose in Aztec myth. the other Tree became the Tree of the Warrior (Orion)
Al because of the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn which is the current track of our Sun. [Or do we call that an orbit of the earth?

The jpg shows what happened to the Milky Way that was once wrapped around our equator and now makes the seasons of the world, opposite in the northern hemisphere vs the southern hemisphere.  Can a sky cube bring the northern stars into the location of the Southern constellations; mostly because the stars that create the constellations are parsecs apart ???

The "dn" Numbers of the Maya and the 819 Dilemma

In 1998, Floyd Lounsbury decided he had to create series of coefficients for the
Maya glyphs. As he atempted to make the MOD units. He decided that the 819
number was the lowest common denominator by combining six “dn” units
[n0, n1,, n2,, n3,, n4, n5] ALL of which are divisable by Five.

There was an odd reason for that. He created that 819 number by combining:
n1 - Uinal = 01-day
n2 - Veintana = 20-days
n3 - Sacred Almanac = 260-days
N4 - Nine days = 19-days
and n5 - Calendar Year = 365-days of 52-years or 18,980-days

Other grouped units that could be used were 9-days, 819-days, 4 x
819-days, and the moon which has 29 or 30 nights.

Now if anyone could get through the 819 calculation by assuming that all
of the above unit numbers, which the author claimed are divisible by 5,
then one could run five of those numbers together to reach the 819 figure
which would then become the coefficient for each one. Lounsbury made
a disclaimer, just in case.

“It is not known whether this was the Maya  way; it probably was not.”

In other words, he made up the process in order to create another math  problem
that might solve the Maya Calendar computations. On the other hand, I must
assume that the Maya had a specific way of counting number’s: like a bar
(=5) + a dot (=1) = 6. They also had a set of names for very large numbers: from"

kin = 1-day;
uinal = 20-days;
tun - 360-days;
katun = 7200-days;.
baktun - 144,000-days.

Added were more titles: pictun, calabtun, and kinchiltun, eetc.which seem to have
come through those people who research dates of the Maya.  This set of three
seemed appropriate for Maya numbers, but there is no information that the Maya
ever used those names themselves.
Lounsbury also obtained the Yucatec names used for 1 to 20 numbers.
He probably took them from the Maya calendar maker in Merida, who was also
attempted to find the names for higher groups of Yucatec/Maya numbers.

The worst of the inferences was when it was the n0  dn numbers were used to find the month names as far back as the BC centuries. Even though the Maya recorded over and over again:
“the month names were created by Rome in 1583 for the year 1584
Month Name became 0-POP. “   [Edmonson, Munro, ( , 78, 81,
86-87, 89, 90, 93, etc )  The Book of the Year]
In other words, Rome sent out new month names which they had created.
The new names would be used  to make Maya dates comparable with the
European calendars.

We must not forget the distance numbers, marked in Lounsbury’s Calculus
formula as “dn.” There is also a Maya commentary on them which has also
been ignored by the scholars.

Native Maya Calendar Makers, after much discussion, decided that
although Rome’s dates would be used in the post-conquest monuments,
they would continue to use the dn numbers as the true Maya calendar
of 360-day, the same as those used in China for their 60-year sequence.

“Let us permit our calendar to gain on the true year; as fast as it will. We will
allow our calendar to function without change, but when we erect a monument,
we will engrave upon it, IN ADDITION TO  THE OFFICIAL CALENDAR DATE OF ITS
DEDICATION DATE, A CALDENDAR CORRECTION FOR THAT PARTICULAR DATE.In this
way, no matter WHAT DATE OUR CALENDAR MAY REGISTER, WE WILL ALWAYS KNOW,
whenever, we erect a monument, the POSITION OF ITS CCRRESPONDING DATE IN
THE TRUE YEAR.”

The above gives us the definition of the “dn” numbers. They are nothing more
than the Maya date method of IK being the first day of a 360-day year. That would
be the very same date that is in Rome’s approved calendar beginning with IMIX
[from February 8] as the first day of Rome’s version of the month of 0-POP [from July 26.]

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have Maya teachers who could teach us
their math in simple Maya terms instead of Rome’s convoluted dating system.
The Maya actually gave the correct Maya math for Rome’s version of their calendar.
So to begin with we have had a very good lesson from the Maya about the “dn” numbers after the glyphic version of dates on monuments of stone. But as usual, no one cared enough to listen to the Maya. The researchers as youngsters just on their first archaeological dig, usually could not communicate in Maya, and not very well in Spanish.

So the Math that they learned was that 52-weeks are 52-years in Calculus.
At the end of those 52-years: a great First Fire would be celebrated, and
everything used in the homes would be destroyed. All new items during the
First Fire celebration would be bought to replace pots, ollas, cups, plates,
baskets, digging sticks, rebozos, skirts, shirts, sandals, . . .everything NEW
to be used for the following 52-years.

It would be akward to have burned food in the bottoms of pots and ollas,
which could not be removed. . . . since clay is porous to begin with. Germs
could produce diarhea and other disturbances of the intestines. These might
be a grave problem if pots and ollas are constantly used for 52 years.

As it was, Floyd Lounsbury’s paper,  was an experiment with enough clues throughout the 28 pages, that it was just a paper about that which he wanted to
accomplish; however, his theories were never specifically fixed into a usable formula.

On page 804. After comparing sun and moon eclipses during the time that
his inferred formula would not work well:  So he tried again:

10.   7. 4.    3. 5. = 3 Chicchan, 13 Yaxkin  and subtracting
-- 8. 11    7, 13, 5.    = 3 Chicchan, 8 Kankin
______________
   1. 15. 16.     8. 0. = 2 x  (17.13.4.0)
                                  = 2 x (128,960 days)
By the time he reached the end of the very long paragraph, he had decided
the math was still wrong.

10.   7. 4.   3. 5. = 3 Chicchan, 13 Yaxkin  and substracting
-4 = Interval conj. to crescent moon.
______________
10.   7. 4.   3. 1.  = 12 Imix , 9 Yaxkin (conj.)
        1. 7. 8. 13      = 335 lunations
 _______________
   10.  5. 16. 12.   8 . = 12 Lamat 11Tzec  (epoch)
--    9. 16.   4. 10. 8.     = 12 Lamat 1 Muan  (epoch)
  _______________
         9. 12. 2.  0. = Interval between epochs
 --      8. 6.  2. 0. = 5 full eclipse cycles
     _______________
           1 6. 0. 0.     = one short cycle = 9,360 days or 36 almanacs

The preceding computation was Lounsbury’s solution to the eclipse problem.
Therefore,

10.   7. 4.    3. 5. = 3 Chicchan, 13 Yaxkin  and substracting
-- 9. 17.   8, 8, 5.    = 3 Chicchan, 18 Xul
_______________
         9. 15. 13. 0.     = 5 x (1.13.4.0) +    1.9.11.0.
                                  = 5 x (11,960) + 10,660 days

Still between page 804 to 818, he had not worked out the solution. In this way, the
best possible date for the 3 Chicchan, 13 Yaxkin, would probably be between 1210 and
1536 AD.   On page 766, Lounsbury indicated that his count was far distant from the
Neither assumption was helpful to understanding his own calculations.

The last statement Lounsbury made as his proposed conclusion for all his
efforts was:
It is perhaps superfluous to such that this {paper] should be
taken as no more than one person’s attempt at a chronology
of the developments in Maya calendrics and astronomy,
that it is incomplete in many respects and thaft the dates
rashly ventured here are held subject to revisions.”
[Lounsbury, F. (1998, 759-818) Maya Numeration,
       Computation, and Calendrical   Astronomy]

As far as I know, Carlos Barrera Alueste is still working with the 819
created by Floyd Lounsbury. He is trying to fit it into the Venus Tables of the Dresden Codex.

The exception to the Venus Tables in the Dresden, is the about birth of
the “venus” glyph on D-47b, which shown by the Skeletal ruler of the
western Land of the Dead and the single shaft of a lance with two obsidian
spearheads. Two comets with one body. One of the Night and the other
named for the day, who eclipsed the sun and the moon on the same day,
and left a “mirror” at high noon, so it could return to its [sun] home in
the east.{Tedlock, D. (1996)]

Therefore, it has nothing to do with the Planet Venus which as the
Morning star goes behind our sun and emerges eight days later
as the Evening star in the west.
